MIGOSUR Workshop - Return Migration in Practice: Challenges, Realities, and Stories - 14 May 2025
On 14 May 2025, from 11:00 to 14:00, the workshop “Return Migration in Practice: Challenges, Realities, and Stories” was organised as part of the MIGOSUR Jean Monnet Chair. In this interactive event, Özge Algül delivered a lecture on the complexities of return migration. Özge Algül is a migration specialist with extensive experience in international organizations such as the UN Migration Agency (IOM) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as well as NGOs across three continents. The workshop then continued with a questionnaire-based discussion and concluded with a role-play exercise through which she guided participants to explore the human realities and policy challenges of return migration.
