Gülçin Karadeniz, European Environment Agency – “Europe’s Green Policies in Current Geopolitical Context” – MIGOSUR Seminar - 16 April 2025
On Wednesday, 16 April 2025, Gülçin Karadeniz, Head of Unit - Communications, Stakeholders and Networks, at the European Environment Agency, gave a seminar titled “Europe’s Green Policies in Current Geopolitical Context” as part of the MIGOSUR Jean Monnet Chair.
Drawing on her extensive experience in environmental governance and stakeholder engagement at the European level, Gülçin Karadeniz focused her presentation on the EU’s environmental and climate policies in light of recent geopolitical developments.
The seminar offered valuable insights into pressing issues such as the European Green Deal, the EU’s climate neutrality targets, the impact of geopolitical tensions on environmental policymaking, strategic autonomy in the energy and green technology sectors, and the evolving role of the EU as a global environmental actor. Particular attention was given to the complex and increasingly visible links between migration and climate change.
